Every now and then the veil to the other side of reality appears here in Boulder.
North Boulder used to be the "Dogpatch" of town. Two strip clubs (yeah, there was one other than the Bus Stop) a few dive bars, Judy's Diner, and a scattering of trailers. Now it's been gentrified, tredified, Google-ized and hipped out, yet there remains a few of the old style establishments.
I'm not sure how long La Choza has been around, but I hope they continue to fight the rebellion. When you walk in, you're not sure if your on South Federal or North Broadway. Your map will tell you Broadway, but looking around, this place in no way resembles Boulder.
Refreshing.
You order at the counter, lay down your $3.50, and have the options of something like ten different varieties of breakfast burritos. Santiago's can't hold a candle to this, folks. There you have 1 (one) choice of meat, and it's whatever the cook wants that day. Here, they have it all. Asada, carnita, chorizo, barbacoa, and some I've never heard of before.
There's six kinds of salsas to the right of the counter, they kindly ask that you only take what you need. The plywood booths speak of thousands before you, witnesses to the goodness that lurks inside that foil-wrapped tube of heaven that's about to be placed before you.
Enjoy. I sure as hell did...

Not clean, canned beans, ok rice, good salsas, meat needed salt, tripe was dirty...This place could do so much better, shame that they don't care.
Ninguna restaurante Mexicano debería tener frijoles de la lata y estar tan sucia. Pónganse atención a tu lugar por lo bien de los clientes. -

Lots of choices in a divey atmosphere. Breakfast burritos and tacos with a range of internals. Very delicious and there are / we're 5 salsas to choose. I liked the jalapeño guacamole salsa. Has enough kick but not too much.
Don't expect service beyond having your order fulfilled. That said, the food is quite good. -

Went in and they started making fun of my girlfriend and I right in front of us, I speak Spanish but didn't say anything because we had already ordered so it was too late to just leave. The food tasted decent but we both left unsatisfied. The past two days we've been dealing with food poisoning. I don't recommend this place whatsoever, it was an uncomfortable dining experience through and through.

The service was friendly and the divey decorum was very quaint. When the food arrived everything looked delicious. We had a party of 3. I had the Chile Relleno Platter, my wife had a beef enchilada platter, and our friend Sarah had a Chicken Burrito Platter. All the food was delicious and the prices extremely reasonable. Would very much recommend. Just a little crowded.
